Day 01: Arrival Beijing
Arrival in Beijing. Met and transferred to your hotel. Rest of the time is free for you to explore the city.
Day 02: Beijing ( B L D )
Visit Tian An Men Square, the largest public square in the world and Forbidden City which was once home to the emperors for over 500 years in the Ming and Qing dynasties. After lunch, move on to Temple of Heaven which one of Beijing’s most impressive parks in terms of architecture, color and significance. Then proceed to visit Summer Palace, a former summer resort for the royal family. Peking Duck Dinner & Peking Opera in the evening.
Day 03: Beijing ( B L )
A full day excursion to the Badaling Great Wall and Ming Tombs. The Great Wall is the landmark of China. Ming Tombs are where 13 emperors of the Ming dynasty (1368-1644) were buried. Chinese lunch is included. Back to hotel.
Day 04: Beijing - Urumqi by air ( B L )
After breakfast, transferred to Beijing Capital International Airport for Urumqi. Met and transferred to your hotel in Urumqi. Free for rest of time.
Day 05: Urumqi ( B L D )
Enjoy an excursion to Tianchi Lake situated on Tianshan Mountain. Back to the city, take a city tour, which gives you a glimpse of the major sights of this north-western city populated by Han people and thirteen ethnic minorities. Quite different from the usual Chinese street scene, Urumqi features nomadic Khazakhs, a Middle Eastern bazaar, a jade-carving center and more.
Day 06: Urumqi - Turpan by road ( B L D )
Transferred to your hotel in Turpan. After lunch, visit the Jiaohe Ruins, the Karez Well and the Sugong Pagoda.
Jiaohe Ruins: The Jiaohe Ruins is an ancient Chinese archaeological site found in the Yamaz Valley.
Karez Well: Karez Well is the pride of Turpan and it leads water to the most arid area and has created the vast oasis.
Sugong Pagoda: It was built in 1181by Su Laimen II, the ruler of the Turpan Prefecture, to honor his father.
Day 07: Turpan - Dunhuang by overnight train ( B L D )
After breakfast, visit the Gaochang Ruins, the Baizikeli Thousand Buddha Cave and the Flaming Hill. After dinner, take an overnight train ( soft sleeper ) to Dunhuang.
Gaochang Ruins: Gaochang Ruins is the largest set of ancient city ruins ever found in the Western Regions.
Baizikeli Thousand Buddha Cave: It is one of the most important Buddha grotto relics in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.
The Flaming Hill: The mountain is a combination of red sand and rocks that makes it looks like a red dragon sleeping in the area basin. It is barren and extremely hot in summer.
Day 08: Dunhuang ( B L D )
Arrive in Dunhuang in the morning and transfer to your hotel. Today's highlight is a visit to the Mogao Grottoes. Otherwise known as the Cave of the One-Thousand-Buddhas, it was built in 366 A.D. The 492 grottoes boast mural paintings, totaling 45,000 square meters and 2,000 painted figurines.
Day 09: Dunhuang - Xian by air ( B L D )
This morning, tour the Ming Sha Hill and the Crescent Moon Hill. Take an afternoon flight for Xian. Met and transferred to your hotel in Xian. Free on your own.
Ming Sha Hill: It is also named Echoing-Sand Dune, famous for the echoing sounds the wind makes when blowing over the dunes and is one of must-see attractions in Dunhuang.
The Crescent Lake: The Crescent Lake is a natural wonder in the Gobi Desert. About 6km south of Dunhuang city.
Day 10: Xian ( B L D )
Beginning the day with a once-in-a lifetime viewing of the extraordinary 2200-year-old Terra-cotta Army of China’s First Emperor-Qin Shihuang. Three exhibition halls house the continuing excavation of am army of 7,000 terracotta soldiers and horses that guard the tomb of the First Emperor. After lunch visit Banpo Museum, which shows the history of the Banpo Site, a typical Neolithic matriarchal community of the Yangshao Culture dating back about 6,000 years. Local flavor dinner--dumpling. Tang Dynasty Show in the evening.
Day 11: Xian - Chongqing by air ( B L D )
Fly to Chongqing by air. Our tour guide will meet you at the airport. Then have a short visit of Chongqing city. Chongqing is located on the upper reaches of the Yangtze River and sitting on the place which links the middle and western parts of China. Then transfer to the port. Pre-board the cruise vessel.
Day 12: Chongqing - Fengdu - Ghost City on Board ( B L D )
Take the cruise vessel at 9:00. Excursion to Fengdu ( Ghost City ). Fengdu County is located on the northern bank of the Yangtze River, about 170KM downstream from Chongqing city. Fungdu is well known for its "Ghost City" in China. It is a must see shore excursion place on the Yangtze cruise.
Day 13: Yangtze River On Board ( B L D )
Morning excursion to Baidicheng. Shibaozhai is a 12-story wooden pagoda built against the side of a sheer rectangular cliff, a fantastic building. You will pass through Qutang Gorge and
Wu Gorge, two of the three gorges, known as Sanxia in Chinese. Passing Dam Shiplock. The Three Gorges Dam will be the biggest hydropower station and dam in the world. Construction started in 1994 and is planned for completion by 2009.
Day 14: Yichang - Shanghai by air ( B L )
Passing Xiling Gorge. Arrival in Yichang. Our local tour guide will meet you at the port. You will be transferred to the Yichang Airport. Take afternoon flight for Shanghai. Met and transferred to your hotel in Shanghai
Day 15: Shanghai ( B L D )
After breakfast, visit Yuyuan Garden and the Shanghai Museum. After lunch, take some time to walk along the "Pedestrians only" Nanjing Road. Then take one hour cruising on Huang Pu River. Next you will have a nice walk along The Bund. After dinner, enjoy amazing acrobatic show in the evening.
Transferred to Shanghai airport for your departure
