Day 01: Arrival Beijing
Arrival in Beijing. Met and transferred to your hotel. Free for rest of the day.
Day 02: Beijing ( B L D )
Visit Tian An Men Square, the largest public square in the world and Forbidden City which was once home to the emperors for over 500 years in the Ming and Qing dynasties. After lunch, move on to Forbidden City which was once home to the emperors for over 500 years in the Ming and Qing dynasties. Then proceed to visit Summer Palace, a former summer resort for the royal family. Peking Duck Dinner & Peking Opera in the evening.
Day 03: Beijing ( B L )
A full day excursion to the Mutianyu Great Wall and Temple of Heaven. The Great Wall is the landmark of China. Mutianyu Great Wall is known for its beautiful environment - dense trees and rich grass with the natural colors changing with the seasons of each year. After lunch, you are returned to the downtown Beijing for a visit of Temple of Heaven. It is one of Beijing’s most impressive parks in terms of architecture, color and significance. Back to hotel.
Day 04: Beijing - Xian by air ( B L )
Take a half day hutong tour. Visit Drum Tower dating from 1420, ascending the big drum tower and having bird's eye view of the surrounding communities of hutongs and siheyuan. Then drive to an old courtyard for a tea break. After tea break, take a pedicap to visit Da Jinsi Hutong Tao, the most famous hutongs keeping the original layout in the Shichahai area. After lunch, take flight to Xian.
Day 05: Xian ( B L )
Beginning the day with a once-in-a lifetime viewing of the extraordinary 2200-year-old Terra-cotta Army of China’s First Emperor-Qin Shihuang. Three exhibition halls house the continuing excavation of am army of 7,000 terracotta soldiers and horses that guard the tomb of the First Emperor. After lunch, continue to visit the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, one of the oldest structures in China. Big Wild Goose Pagoda is one of the Xian city’s most distinctive and outstanding landmarks, possibly the most beautiful building left in Xian today. Tang Dynasty Show in the evening.
Day 06: Xian ( B L )
After breakfast, visit Forest of Stone Steles Museum, the largest and earliest stele forest in China, now it has become Shanxi Provincial Museum. Then visit City Wall, the most complete city wall that has survived in China, as well being one of the largest ancient military defensive systems in the world. Then move on to Shaanxi Museum, which considers it an obligation to be a showcase of ancient civilizations.
Day 07: Xian - Lhasa by air ( B )
After breakfast, take morning from Xian to Lhasa.
Day 08: Lhasa ( B L )
Visit Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple and Barkhor Street.
Potala Palace: Potala Palace is the architectural and religious wonders, former winter home of the Dalai Lama.
Jokhang Monastery: A 1,300 years old golden-roofted shrine, smaller and more manageable than the Potala.
Barkhor area: An outdoor market, lined with the stalls, selling all kinds of goods.
Day 09: Lhasa ( B L )
Today’s highlight is a visit to the Sera Monastery, located a few miles to the north of Lhasa. Enjoy a Tibetan Song & Dance Performance after dinner. Then we will pay a visit to the Nobulingka, means “Jeweled Garden”, was constructed as a summer palace for the Dalai Lama. In the afternoon, come to the western suburb of Lhasa to visit the extraordinary Drepung Monastery founded in 1416.
Day 10: Lhasa - Chongqing ( B )
After breakfast, your time is on your own until to be transferred to airport for your flight to Chongqing. On arrival, you will be met and transferred to the hotel, the rest of the day is free.
Day 11: Chongqing - Yangtze ( B L )
After breakfast, visit Three Gorges Museum, the best exhibits are those on the history of the Yangtze and the Dam. Then proceed to visit
Ciqikou Old Town. Ciqikou is an old town preserved in sprawling modern Chongqing, about an hour’s drive form the city centre. It’s an old sleepy town built in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. Finally visit Panda Room in Panda Room in Chongqing Zoo. In the Panda Room, you can see Giant pandas, Lesser pandas, Golden hair monkeys, South China Tigers and some other national protected animals. On board a cruise for the night.
Day 12: Yangtze River On Board ( B L D )
Excursion to Fengdu ( Ghost City ). Fengdu County is located on the northern bank of the Yangtze River, about 170km downstream from Chongqing city. Fengdu is well known for its “Ghost City” in China. It is a must see shore excursion place on the Yangtze cruise.
Day 13: Yangtze ( B L D )
Shore excursion to Shennong Stream. Shennong Stream is part of the Shennongjia Natural Preserve. The length of the stream is 60km (36 miles). The Shennong Stream is a tributary with clear water coming into the Yangtse River. The "stream" runs through steep tributary gorges. It was said that once the ancient asian Bahu people used to live on the sides of the streams thousands of years ago.
Day 14: Yangtze - Yichang - Shanghai ( B L )
Shore excursion to The Three Gorges Dam. Three Gorges Dam is a Chinese hydroelectric river dam which spans the Yangtze River in Sandouping, Yichang, Hubei province, China. As of 2008, it is the largest hydropower-complex project in the world, more than five times the size of the Hoover Dam. China has embarked on the greatest project since the building of the Great Wall and the Grand Canal -- the Three Gorges Dam project. Arrival in Yichang about 1:00pm. Our local tour guide will meet you at the port. You will be transferred to the Yichang Airport. Take flight for Shanghai.
Day 15: Shanghai ( B L )
Today’s highlight is a visit to Yuyuan Garden and the Bund. After lunch, move on to The Shanghai World Financial Center and Shanghai Urban Planning Exhibition Hall.
Yuyuan Garden and Bazar: Yuyuan is the famous gardens in Shanghai, Located in the center of Shanghai"s Old City, one of the few remaining old tourist sites in Shanghai.
The Bund: The Bund is a section of riverfront along the Huangpu river in Shanghai which until the early 1800"s was undeveloped.
The Shanghai World Financial Center: The Shanghai World Financial Center is a supertall skyscraper in Shanghai, China. It is mixed use skyscraper which consists of offices, hotels, conferdence rooms, observation decks, and shopping malls on the ground floors.
Shanghai Urban Planning Exhibition Hall: Shanghai Urban Planning Exhibition Hall is located on People’s Square, adjacent to the municipal government building. Exhibition include models of planned and recent developments, as well as Shanghai’s history.
Day 16: Shanghai Exit ( B )
