Day 01: Arrival in Beijing
Arrival in Beijing. Met and transferred to your hotel. Free for rest of the day.
Day 02: Beijing ( B L D )
Visit Tian An Men Square, the largest public square in the world and Forbidden City which was once home to the emperors for over 500 years in the Ming and Qing dynasties. Then proceed to visit Hall of Clocks and Watches. This exhibition hall houses about 200 clocks and watches and clocks are mostly made in Switzerland, England, France, the U.S and Japan. After lunch, move on to Summer Palace, a former summer resort for the royal family. The Summer Palace was used by emperors for 800 years.
Day 03: Beijing ( B L D )
Excursion to Mutianyu Great Wall. The Great Wall is the landmark of China. Mutianyu Great Wall is known for its beautiful environment - dense trees and rich grass with the natural colors changing with the seasons of each year. Peking Duck Dinner & Peking Opera in the evening.
Day 04: Beijing - Urumqi by air ( B L )
After breakfast, visit Temple of Heaven - where dynastic rulers in China used to worship the heaven. Then take rickshaw to explore some of Beijing's old "hutong", traditional courtyard residences cut into blocks by narrow alleyways. After lunch, take flight to Urumqi.
Day 05: Urumqi - Kashgar by air ( B L )
Visit The Erdaoqiao Bazaar and Xinjiang Autonomous Museum. After lunch, take flight to Kashgar.
Erdaoqiao Bazaar: Erdaoqiao is the largest market of ethnic minority goods in Xinjiang. Merchants at the bazaar sell all kinds of items from local products to imported products, from arts and crafts to animals.
Xinjiang Autonomous Museum: The Xinjiang Automonous Museum is famous for its rich collections of silk artifacts from many periods of history.
Day 06: Kashgar ( B L )
Today’s highlight is Kashgar Old Town, Zhiren Street and Id Kah Mosque.
Kashgar Old Town: Kashgar is sited west of Taklamkan Desert at the feet of the Tianshan mountain range and is a oasis. More than 2,450 people of 603 families, all of whom are of Uygurds reside here.
Zhiren Street: It is close to Id Kah Mosque, an old street with a range of goods being crafted by hand.
Id Kah Mosque: The mosque is one of the largest and busiest in China. Women are advised to cover upper arms and legs, a scarf is not compulsory, but is seen as a mark of respect.
Day 07: Kashgar - Urumqi by air ( B L )
After breakfast, take morning flight to Urumqi. Visit Lake Karakuli and local Keerkezi Family.
Lake Karakuli: Karakul Lake is the highest lake of the Pamir plateau at an altitude of 3600m. The lake is popular among travelers for its unreal scenery and the clarity of its reflection in the water.
local Keerkezi Family: Take the rare opportunity to experience the lift, customs and food of the Keerkezi local people.
Day 08: Urumqi - Xian by air ( B L )
Morning Flight from Urumqi to Xian. Met &transferred hotel. After lunch, visit City Wall, the most complete city wall that has survived in China, as well being one of the largest ancient military defensive systems in the world. Then move on to Shaanxi Museum, which considers it an obligation to be a showcase of ancient civilizations. Tang Dynasty Show in the evening.
Day 09: Xian ( B L )
Beginning the day with a once-in-a lifetime viewing of the extraordinary 2200-year-old Terra-cotta Army of China’s First Emperor-Qin Shihuang. Three exhibition halls house the continuing excavation of am army of 7,000 terracotta soldiers and horses that guard the tomb of the First Emperor. Continue to visit the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, one of the oldest structures in China. Big Wild Goose Pagoda is one of the Xian city’s most distinctive and outstanding landmarks, possibly the most beautiful building left in Xian today. After lunch visit Forest of Stone Steles Museum, the largest and earliest stele forest in China, now it has become Shanxi Provincial Museum.
Day 10: Xian - Chongqing - Yangtze by air ( B L )
After breakfast, visit Panda Room in Chongqing Zoo. In the Panda Room, you can see Giant pandas, Lesser pandas, Golden hair monkeys, South China Tigers and some other national protected animals. Then proceed to visit Ciqikou Old Town. Ciqikou is an old town preserved in sprawling modern Chongqing, about an hour’s drive form the city centre. It’s an old sleepy town built in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. On board a cruise for the night.
Day 11: Yangtze River On Board ( B L D )
Excursion to Fengdu ( Ghost City ). Fengdu County is located on the northern bank of the Yangtze River, about 170km downstream from Chongqing city. Fengdu is well known for its “Ghost City” in China. It is a must see shore excursion place on the Yangtze cruise.
Day 12: Yangtze ( B L D )
Shore excursion to Shennong Stream. Shennong Stream is part of the Shennongjia Natural Preserve. The length of the stream is 60km (36 miles). The Shennong Stream is a tributary with clear water coming into the Yangtse River. The "stream" runs through steep tributary gorges. It was said that once the ancient asian Bahu people used to live on the sides of the streams thousands of years ago.
Day 13: Yangtze - Yichang - Shanghai ( B L )
Shore excursion to The Three Gorges Dam. Three Gorges Dam is a Chinese hydroelectric river dam which spans the Yangtze River in Sandouping, Yichang, Hubei province, China. As of 2008, it is the largest hydropower-complex project in the world, more than five times the size of the Hoover Dam. China has embarked on the greatest project since the building of the Great Wall and the Grand Canal -- the Three Gorges Dam project. Arrival in Yichang about 1:00pm. Our local tour guide will meet you at the port. You will be transferred to the Yichang Airport. Take flight for Shanghai.
Day 14: Shanghai ( B L )
Today’s highlight is your visit to Yuyuan Garden, Oriental Pearl TV Tower and Jade Buddha Temple.
Yuyuan Garden: Yuyuan is the famous gardens in Shanghai, Located in the center of Shanghai’s Old City, one of the few remaining old tourist sites in Shanghai.
Oriental Pearl TV Tower: a symbol in shanghai like the Statue of Liberty in New York and the Eiffel Tower in Paris.
Jade Buddha TempleJade Buddha Temple: Built in 1989, Jade Buddha Temple covers two-and-a-half acres in southwest Houston and consists of the Grand Hall, Kwan-Yin Hall, the Youth Activity Center, a library, a dining hall, several living quarters, and a lotus pond with a statue of Kwan-Yin as its centerpiece.
Day 15: Shanghai EXIT ( B )
Transfer to airport for departure.
