Day 01: Arrival in Beijing
Arrival in Beijing. Met and transferred to your hotel. Free for rest of the day.
Day 02: Beijing ( B L D )
After breakfast, take morning visit to Temple of Heaven - where dynastic rulers in China used to worship the heaven. Then excursion to the Mutianyu Great Wall. The Great Wall is the landmark of China. Mutianyu Great Wall is known for its beautiful environment - dense trees and rich grass with the natural colors changing with the seasons of each year. Peking Duck Dinner & Peking Opera in the evening.
Day 03: Beijing ( B L )
Visit Tian An Men Square, the largest public square in the world and Forbidden City which was once home to the emperors for over 500 years in the Ming and Qing dynasties. Then proceed to visit Hall of Clocks and Watches. This exhibition hall houses about 200 clocks and watches and clocks are mostly made in Switzerland, England, France, the U.S and Japan. After lunch, take rickshaw to explore some of Beijing's old "hutong", traditional courtyard residences cut into blocks by narrow alleyways.
Day 04: Beijing - Chengdu by air ( B L )
After breakfast, visit Summer Palace, a former summer resort for the royal family. After lunch, take flight to Chengdu.
Day 05: Chengdu ( B L )
Today’s highlight is Wu Hou Temple, Jinli Street and Panda Breeding and Research Centre.
Wu Hou Temple: Enjoying a history of over 1500 years, Wuhou Temple Museum is a 4-A level Scenic Area and also the country’s most influential ancient ruins in the Three Kindoms Period with the longest history.
Jinli Street: Jinli Street was in ancient times one of the busiest of commercial boulevards of the Kingdom of Shu, thus known as the “First Street of the Shu Kingdom.”
Panda Breeding and Research Centre: It is home to giant pandas, the endearing red, or less panda, and other endangered species. Visit the nursery to see the successful breeding programme and view the pandas at rest and play.
Day 06: Chengdu ( B L )
One day tour of visit Dazu Grottoes. “Dazu” here means “harvest and abundance”. It enjoys equal popularity with the Yungang Grottoes and Longmen Grottoes. There are more than 50,000 Buddhist, Taoist and Confucian rock carvings and 100,000 characters of inscriptions dotted around Dazu.
Day 07: Chengdu - Kunming by air ( B L )
Take morning flight to Kunming. Upon arrival in Kunming, visit The Stone Forest. Located 90km southeast of Kunming, it is the home of the Sani people, their colorful embroidery and minority dances combine with the natural sceneries which will leave you a deep impression.
Day 08: Kunming - Dali by air ( B L )
Take morning flight to Dali. You will visit The Scenery of Cangshan Mountain, Houses of Bai People and The Ancient City of Dali.
The Scenery of Cangshan Mountain: There are more than 3,000 kinds of plants on the Mountain, which makes Cangshan Mountain one of China’s storehouses for plant resources.
Houses of Bai People: Located in the Xizhou Town, Xizhou is a tupical commercial town of Bai people, a famous hometown to overseas Chinese in Yunnan.
The Ancient City of Dali: The Ancient City of Dali is located at the foot of Cangshan Mountain. It is a famous historic city.
Day 09: Dali - Lijiang by air ( B L )
Take morning flight to Lijiang. Upon arrival in Lijiang, visit Lijiang Ancient City and The Black Dragon Pool.
Lijiang Ancient City: The ancient city of Lijiang is located at the foot of the snow-capped Yulong Mountain. It is called the “soul of Lijiang” because the city itself is located where the Han, Tibetan, Nanzhan and Naxi cultures converge and has been a caretaker of civilization for over 1,000 years.
The Black Dragon Pool: It is a famous pond in the scenic Jade Spring Park located at the foot of Elephant Hill. It has become a popular tourist attraction over 700 years ago.
Day 10: Lijiang ( B L )
Today’s highlight is Mural in Baisha Village and Jade Dragon Snow Mountain.
Mural in Baisha Village: People painted plenty of murals on the walls of temples with the introduction of the Buddhism in the Ming Dynasty.
Jade Dragon Snow Mountain: The mountain is 5,600 meters in altitude and the best- known massif in the province. Its highest peak is named Shanzidou, has been climbed only once at 1987 by an American expedition.
Day 11: Lijiang - Chongqing - Yangtze ( B L )
After breakfast, take flight to Chongqing, visit Ciqikou Old Town. Ciqikou is an old town preserved in sprawling modern Chongqing, about an hour’s drive form the city centre. It’s an old sleepy town built in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. On board a cruise for the night.
Day 12: Yangtze River On Board ( B L D )
Excursion to Fengdu ( Ghost City ). Fengdu County is located on the northern bank of the Yangtze River, about 170km downstream from Chongqing city. Fengdu is well known for its “Ghost City” in China. It is a must see shore excursion place on the Yangtze cruise.
Day 13: Yangtze River On Board ( B L D )
Shore excursion to Shennong Stream. Shennong Stream is part of the Shennongjia Natural Preserve. The length of the stream is 60km (36 miles). The Shennong Stream is a tributary with clear water coming into the Yangtse River. The "stream" runs through steep tributary gorges. It was said that once the ancient asian Bahu people used to live on the sides of the streams thousands of years ago.
Day 14: Yangtze - Yichang - Shanghai ( B L )
Shore excursion to The Three Gorges Dam. Three Gorges Dam is a Chinese hydroelectric river dam which spans the Yangtze River in Sandouping, Yichang, Hubei province, China. As of 2008, it is the largest hydropower-complex project in the world, more than five times the size of the Hoover Dam. China has embarked on the greatest project since the building of the Great Wall and the Grand Canal -- the Three Gorges Dam project. Arrival in Yichang about 1:00pm. Our local tour guide will meet you at the port. You will be transferred to the Yichang Airport. Take flight for Shanghai.
Day 15: Shanghai ( B L )
Today’s highlight is your visit to Shanghai Old Street, the best palce to bring you back to the old Shanghai of the early period of 20 century. Then to to visit Jinmao Tower, 88 storeys high, one of the tallest in the world. After lunch, move on to the Pedestrians only Nanjing Road. Nanjing Road is a must-see metropolitan destination attracting thousands of fashion-seeking shoppers from all over the world. Then move on to The Bund. The Bund, also called the Zhongshan Road, is a famous waterfront and regarded as the symbol of Shanghai for hundreds of years.
Day 16: Shanghai ( B L )
Today’s highlight is your visit to Yuyuan Garden. It was fist established in 1559 as a private garden, located in the center of the Old City next to Chenghuangmiao in Shanghai. Continue to visit the the Shanghai Museum. Shanghai museum is a museum of ancient Chinese art, situated on the People’s Square. After lunch, visit Oriental Pearl TV Tower, a symbol in shanghai like the Statue of Liberty in New York and the Eiffel Tower in Paris. Then go to visit Shanghai Urban Planning Exhibition Hall, located on People’s Square, adjacent to the municipal government building. Exhibition include models of planned and recent developments, as well as Shanghai’s history.
Day 17: Shanghi EXIT ( B )
Transfer to airport for departure.
