Day by day itinerary: Tour Code: CTH-008

Day 01: Arrival Beijing
Arrival in Beijing. Met and transferred to your hotel. Free for rest of the day.

Day 02: Beijing ( B L )
Visit Tian An Men Square, the largest public square in the world and Forbidden City which was once home to the emperors for over 500 years in the Ming and Qing dynasties. After lunch, move on to Forbidden City which was once home to the emperors for over 500 years in the Ming and Qing dynasties. Then proceed to visit Temple of Heaven. It is one of Beijing’s most impressive parks in terms of architecture, color and significance.

Day 03: Beijing ( B L D )
A full day excursion to the Mutianyu Great Wall. The Great Wall is the landmark of China. Mutianyu Great Wall is known for its beautiful environment - dense trees and rich grass with the natural colors changing with the seasons of each year. Peking Duck Dinner & Peking Opera in the evening.

Day 04: Beijing - Xian by air ( B L )
Take a half day hutong tour. Visit Drum Tower dating from 1420, ascending the big drum tower and having bird's eye view of the surrounding communities of hutongs and siheyuan. Move on to a 300-year old courtyardm, a private residence of the Qi family, one of the most complete existing quadrangles in Beijing. Then, take a pedicap to visit Da Jinsi Hutong Tao, the most famous hutongs keeping the original layout in the Shichahai area. After lunch, take flight to Xian.

Day 05: Xian ( B L )
Beginning the day with a once-in-a lifetime viewing of the extraordinary 2200-year-old Terra-cotta Army of China’s First Emperor-Qin Shihuang. Three exhibition halls house the continuing excavation of am army of 7,000 terracotta soldiers and horses that guard the tomb of the First Emperor. After lunch, continue to visit the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, one of the oldest structures in China. Big Wild Goose Pagoda is one of the Xian city’s most distinctive and outstanding landmarks, possibly the most beautiful building left in Xian today. Tang Dynasty Show in the evening.

Day 06: Xian ( B L )
After breakfast, visit Forest of Stone Steles Museum, the largest and earliest stele forest in China, now it has become Shanxi Provincial Museum. Then visit Xian City Wall, the most complete city wall that has survived in China, as well being one of the largest ancient military defensive systems in the world. Then move on to Shaanxi Museum, which considers it an obligation to be a showcase of ancient civilizations.

Day 07: Xian - Lhasa by air ( B )
After breakfast, take morning from Xian to Lhasa. Upon arrival in Lhasa, visit Barkhor area, an outdoor market, lined with the stalls, selling all kinds of goods.

Day 08: Lhasa ( B L )
Visit Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple and Nobulingka.
Potala Palace: Potala Palace is the architectural and religious wonders, former winter home of the Dalai Lama.
Jokhang Monastery: A 1,300 years old golden-roofted shrine, smaller and more manageable than the Potala.
Nobulingka: means “Jeweled Garden”, was constructed as a summer palace for the Dalai Lama.

Day 09: Lhasa - Shigatse ( B L )
Drive to Shigatse. Get off at the Yamdrok Yumtso Lake and transfer to your loacal hotel. First visit the Gyangtse Old Street. Then move on to Palkhor Monastery. Built as a Tibetan monastery, it is very different from other monasteries, reputed as the lord of Tibetan monastery.

Day 10: Shigatse - Lhasa ( B L )
Visit Tashilunpo Monastery, represents the Tibetan super architecture art in the last Tibetan spirit, attracts thousands of tourists and Buddhists to worship and travel every year. Drive back to Lhasa.

Day 11: Lhasa - Chengdu by air ( B L )
Take flight to Chngdu. Upon arrival in Chengdu, visit Wu Hou Temple. Enjoying a history of over 1500 years, Wuhou Temple Museum is a 4-A level Scenic Area and also the country’s most influential ancient ruins in the Three Kindoms Period with the longest history. Go on to visit Jinli Street. Jinli Street was in ancient times one of the busiest of commercial boulevards of the Kingdom of Shu, thus known as the “First Street of the Shu Kingdom.”

Day 12: Chengdu ( B L )
Take a day tour of Panda Breeding and Research Centre, is home to giant pandas, the endearing red, or less panda, and other endangered species. Visit the nursery to see the successful breeding programmer and view the pandas at rest and play.

Day 13: Chengdu - Guilin by air ( B L )
Visit Du Fu Cottage and Chunxi Street. Then take flight to Guilin.
Du Fu Cottage: The Thatched Cottage of Du Fu is located at the side of the Flower Washing Brook in the western suburbs of Chengdu. Du Fu was one of the greatest poets in the Tang Dynasty. He stayed there for 3 years and composing more than 240 poems.
Chunxi Street : Located in the center, the biggest and busiest shopping area in the town.

Day 14: Guilin - Yangshuo ( B L )
Pick up from your hotel early the morning around 7:30am. Then drive about one hour to get to the Zhujiang Pier. Then start to take cruising on Li River. The cruising on the Li River is the highlight of the tours in Guilin. You will have lunch on board. You will enjoy the pretty mountains, green fields, farms and villages with water buffalos, cows wondering around on both sides of the river bank.

Day 15: Yangshuo - Guilin - HK ( B L )
After breakfast, visit Yangshuo Moon Mountain. It is a hill with a natural arch. Viewed from different places, the moon takes on different shapes, forming a marvelous spectacle in Yangshuo. The next attraction is Big Banyan Tree, located 7.5km south of Yangshuo, one of the main scenic attractions of Yangshuo County. The banyan tree is famous for its age and towering beauty that 17 meters high, 7.1 meters around the trunk and covers an area of 1000 square meters. Transferred back to Guilin. Visit Reed Flute Cave. The Reed Flute Cave is a brilliant cave marked on almost all travel itineraries, located 5 kilometers northwest of the downtown Guilin. Next visit Elephant Trunk Hill. Elephant Trunk Hill is located on the western bank of Li River Scenery, the shape of the hill is just like a huge elephant drinking water from the river with its trunk. Then take flight from Guilin to Kunming.

Day 16: Hong Kong ( B )
The whole day is free for your own.

Day 17: Hong Kong EXIT ( B )
Transfer to airport for departure.
