Day 01: Arrival Beijing
Arrival in Beijing. Met and transferred to your hotel. Free for rest of the day.
Day 02: Beijing - Chengde ( B L )
Our tour guide will pick you up at your hotel in the early morning at 7:30am. Get to the Jinshanling Great Wall before 10 o"clock. Hiking for 1 to 2 hours. Jinshanling Great Wall was named because it was built on the Jinshan Mountains. It was initially built from 1368 to 1389 in the Ming Dynasty, and in 1567 or 1570 rebuilding of the Wall was mainly directed by General Qi Jiguang. Have lunch at a local restaurant. Then you will be transferred to Chengde. Upon arrival, visit Summer Resort( Chengde Mountain Resort ). Listed on the UNESCO’s World Heritage List in 1994, the summer resort and surrounding temples make up the biggest existant royal garden and temples, dating back to the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911). Back to hotel in Chengde.
Day 03: Chengde - Beijing ( B L )
After breakfast, visit Putuozongchengzhi Temple, which is also called Little Potala Palace. It is considered as a great place to go if you cannot travel to Tibet. The top of the temple complex has a commanding view of the Chengde Summer Resort. Little Potala Palace and Puning Temple are circled around the Mountain Resort on the eastern and northern sides. After lunch, move on to visit Puning Temple, or Temple of Universal Peace, built between 1755 and 1759. It is one of the “Eight Outer Temple” of Chengde. After the visit, transfer from Chengde to Beijing. Back to hotel in Beijing.
Day 04: Beijing ( B L )
Visit Tian An Men Square, the largest public square in the world and Forbidden City which was once home to the emperors for over 500 years in the Ming and Qing dynasties. Then move on to Forbidden City which was once home to the emperors for over 500 years in the Ming and Qing dynasties. Proceed to visit Temple of Heaven. It is one of Beijing’s most impressive parks in terms of architecture, color and significance. After lunch, take a hutong tour. Visit Drum Tower dating from 1420, ascending the big drum tower and having bird's eye view of the surrounding communities of hutongs and siheyuan. After tea break, take a pedicap to visit Da Jinsi Hutong Tao, the most famous hutongs keeping the original layout in the Shichahai area.
Day 05: Beijing - Lhasa by air ( B )
After breakfast, take flight to Lhasa.
Day 06: Lhasa ( B L )
Visit Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple and Barkhor Street.
Potala Palace: Potala Palace is the architectural and religious wonders, former winter home of the Dalai Lama.
Jokhang Monastery: A 1,300 years old golden-roofted shrine, smaller and more manageable than the Potala.
Barkhor area: An outdoor market, lined with the stalls, selling all kinds of goods.
Day 07: Lhasa ( B L )
Today’s highlight is a visit to the Sera Monastery, located a few miles to the north of Lhasa. Enjoy a Tibetan Song & Dance Performance after dinner. Then we will pay a visit to the Nobulingka, means “Jeweled Garden”, was constructed as a summer palace for the Dalai Lama. In the afternoon, come to the western suburb of Lhasa to visit the extraordinary Drepung Monastery founded in 1416.
Day 08: Lhasa - Xian by air ( B )
After breakfast, take morning flight to Xian.
Day 09: Xian ( B L )
Beginning the day with a once-in-a lifetime viewing of the extraordinary 2200-year-old Terra-cotta Army of China’s First Emperor-Qin Shihuang. Three exhibition halls house the continuing excavation of am army of 7,000 terracotta soldiers and horses that guard the tomb of the First Emperor. Then go to visit Bell Tower, a stately traditional building, that marks the geographical center of the ancient capital.. Continue to visit the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, one of the oldest structures in China. Big Wild Goose Pagoda is one of the Xian city’s most distinctive and outstanding landmarks, possibly the most beautiful building left in Xian today.
Day 10: Xian - Luoyang by train ( B L )
After breakfast, visit City Wall, the most complete city wall that has survived in China, as well being one of the largest ancient military defensive systems in the world. Then move on to Shaanxi Museum, which considers it an obligation to be a showcase of ancient civilizations. After lunch, transfer to Xian Railway Station. Take overnight train to Luoyang.
Day 11: Luoyang ( B L )
Today’s highlights include Longmen Grottoes and Shaolin Temple.
Longmen Grottoes: Among with the Mogao Caves and Yungang Grottoes, the longmen Grottoes are one of the three most famous ancient sculptural sites in China. From north to south, the distance covered by grottoes is about 1km.
Shaolin Temple: the birthplace of Chan Buddhism-cradle of Shaolin Kongfu, is reputed to be the No.1 Temple under Heaven. You will see real Kongfu master from the temple, it will be a remarkable and unforgettable trip in your life.
Day 12: Zhengzhou - Beijing by air ( B )
After breakfast, take flight to Beijing.
Day 13: Beijing Exit ( B )
Transfer to airport for departure
