Kunming is well known for fresh and varied flowers and you will completely experience its flower industry when just walking along streets. Some famous attractions of Kunming are Grand View Park, Dragon Gate, Stone Forest, and West Hill, etc..

Grand View Park(China--Kunming)
Grand View Park (Daguan Gongyuan) sits on the northern shores of the Dian Lake. Completed in 1690 during the Qing Dynasty, the park consists of hills, ponds, pavilions and rockeries in a style similar to that of the gardens of the Yangtze River Delta.

Grand View Park is located to the west of downtown Kunming, the park contains several tourist destinations, such as Jinhuapu, the Grand View Tower, Louwai Tower, the Flower Nursery, and the Cypress Garden. There are dense groves, rockeries, pavilions, towers, bridges, and streams. A pair of engraved couplets that stand in the park are famous nationwide.

Dragon Gate(China--Kunming)
There is a saying - "If you do not visit Western Hills, you haven"t visited Kunming; if you do not come to Dragon Gate, you haven"t been to the West Hill." Few people who have gotten as far as Three Purity Tower would give up the opportunity to climb the Dragon Gate.
The Dragon Gate was built during the Qing Dynasty, by a poor Taoist priest, Wu Laiqing, and his friends, using simple tools. It consists of three stone chambers chiseled out of the cliffs and connected by a spiraling passageway that allows only one person to pass at a time. The passage ends at the Pavilion Leading to Heaven (Datiange). A stone archway was built at the entrance with the inscription Long Men (Dragon Gate) at the top. The view of Dianchi Lake below is a thrilling sight from this breathtaking building on the cliff.

Stone Forest(China--Kunming)
The Stone Forest is situated in the Lunan Yu Autonomous County, 126 kilometers southeast of Kunming, is one of the major attractions of Yunnan. A region of typical karst formation, the Stone Forest covers an area of more than three hundred square kilometers.
Geological research has shown that what is now the Stone Forest was some 270 million years a shallow sea. Extensive deposits of sandstone overlain by limestone accumulated in this basin during the Permian period of geologic time. Uplift of this region occurred subsequent to deposition and exposure to wind and running water shaped these limestone ridges. These formations extend as far as the eye can see, looking like a vast forest of stone, hence the name "the Stone Forest".

West Hill(China--Kunming)
West Hill is located 2 kilometers west of Guilin and covers about 2 square kilometers. Western Hill forms a delightful contrast with Dianchi Lake. The hill is a pleasant place for a stroll beside the picturesque lake.

Stretching along the west bank of the lake, the wooded hill looks somewhat like a reclining beauty. People in Kunming call it "Sleeping Beauty Hill." Legend has it that in ancient times, there was a young woman whose husband was taken by the local chieftain and sent away as slave. She thought of her husband day and night and wept such copious tears that they became Dianchi Lake, while she herself lay down and became Western Hill.
