Geographical PositionHohhot, which means “green city“ in Chinese, is located at the center of Inner Mongolia, about 670km from Beijing. Hohhot is encircled by the Great Dark Mountains to the north and the Hetao Plateau to the south.

History
Hohhot is Mongolian, in Chinese means “green city“. Hohhot was found by Mongol ruler in the late 16th century. They built a fortress there. Hui merchants came and built a mosque near the fortress. In 1952, Hohhot became the administrative centre instead of Ulanhot. Hohhot becomes one of the famous tourist destinations of Inner Mongolia.
